Preview

Waterford look a shade of value against Galway United in the First Division playoff final at Markets Field on Friday evening.

Blues were the best team in Division 1 in recent months and beat both Saint Patrick's and Dundalk in the FAI Cup. Galway's form slumped, although they did manage to overcome Longford over two legs in the semi-finals.

It is hard to know what to make of that and Waterford should have too much class up front for the Tribesmen.

Sunday sees the conclusion of the Premier Division, with five games that are effectively dead rubbers. The betting will be hard to call in pretty much all of these games, though it should be noted that UCD, Shelbourne and Derry City are all in action next week so it is hard to know who they will risk.

Sligo Rovers look a decent price against Bohemians, who have had a really disappointing campaign. Sligo are finishing the season in solid form and it was no easy task keeping Saint Patrick's scoreless at the Showgrounds.

No doubt this will be the last game at the club for a scatter of these Bohs players.

Champions Shamrock Rovers, who were in action in the Conference League on Thursday night, visit UCD, who will be in the promotion/relegation final on Sunday.
