League of Ireland betting preview, analysis & tips for Monday's matches
Shamrock can stay in the title race with vital victory
7.45pm Monday
Shamrock Rovers' League of Ireland title hopes look pretty remote but they can stay in the race by beating St Patrick's.
When these sides clashed at Inchicore earlier in the season, Rovers dominated possession and were by far the better team. It is hard to argue that either is much different now in terms of quality.
Rovers were excellent for much of their defeat against Dundalk on Friday, and they would have had considerable belief in their ability to win the title had they gained the three points. Pat's continue to struggle in front of goal.
Dundalk ought to stay at least eight points clear and it is hard to see Waterford causing them much trouble, considering how many forward players they have lost to other clubs and injuries. Dundalk were not impressive at Tallaght but they can rotate their squad and should win comfortably.
Cork City are struggling and Finn Harps, fresh from beating Sligo Rovers, will be hopeful of getting something after the visitors' five-hour trek to County Donegal.
