Bundesliga relegation playoff second leg
BT Sport 2, 7.30pm Monday

It's advantage Wolfsburg after a 1-0 first-leg victory over neighbours Eintracht Braunschweig and last season's Champions League quarter-finalists should avoid the disaster of relegation when the teams meet to decide the final spot in the 2017-18 Bundesliga.

Thursday's clean sheet was massive for Wolfsburg with the away-goals rule in operation and one goal at the Eintracht-Stadion should be enough to maintain their Bundesliga status.

However, it may not be totally plain sailing and the best bet could be to take both teams to score in the second half. Braunschweig will know the importance of not conceding early but at some stage the game will have to open up and that's when the drama could come.

Wolfsburg scored just 19 Bundesliga away goals in the regular season but they have notched in six of their last seven on the road and first-leg hero Mario Gomez has now bagged 13 goals in 2017 after the experienced forward separated the sides from the penalty spot.

Braunschweig will be boosted by their brilliant home record in Bundesliga 2 this season - they lost only once and won 13 times - and the fact that all the pressure is on the visitors.

Wolfsburg choked late on at Hamburg in the final match of the season to drop into this uncomfortable relegation playoff and there could yet be some nervy moments before the tie is settled.

Both teams to score in the second half
