Match preview

The destination of the Scottish Championship title race could be determined on Friday night as Kilmarnock host Arbroath at a sold-out Rugby Park.

Just a point separates the two sides with Killie a point clear of Arbroath with just two games of the season remaining, meaning victory for Derek McInnes’ side would see the hosts claim the title.

Under the excellent guidance of boss Dick Campbell, Arbroath have defied their part-time status all season long and certainly won't make life easy for their hosts.

Killie have been strong at home, winning seven of their last eight second-tier matches, although it hasn’t been without event. Six of Kilmarnock’s last eight home matches have featured at least three goals and the other two contained a brace of strikes.

There have been 17 goals in the Arbroath's last six games and, given the circumstances of the contest, the visitors may be forced to push forward at some stage. Backing over 2.5 goals looks the play in what should be a rip-roaring Rugby Park clash.
