Inverness can keep their dreams alive

Inverness were dead and buried a few weeks ago, but the great escape for them is still a possibility and they should complete their part of the bargain by beating Motherwell.

Richie Foran's side looked doomed after being cast adrift at the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership, but a battling win against Hamilton Accies after the split was the catalyst for an unlikely recovery.

When they cruised to a win at Dundee in midweek and Accies lost to a last-minute goal at Highland rivals Ross County, Caley Thistle were suddenly very much alive.

And if they can defeat Well and Accies don't defeat Dundee at New Douglas Park, which is entirely possible, they will at least have clinched a playoff final place, while relegating Hamilton.

It's not stretching the realms of possibility that Well wouldn't be too bothered if a loss in Inverness led to Lanarkshire rivals Accies being relegated.

Motherwell guaranteed their survival in midweek and it's unlikely Steve Robinson will play his full team anyway against a motivated Inverness side. Strikers Louis Moult and Scott McDonald are unlikely to feature.

With Billy McKay back to something approaching his best form, Inverness can give themselves a chance by winning.

East Kilbride can condemn Cowdenbeath to relegation for the third season in a row and take the jump into the Scottish League.

The Ladbrokes League Two playoff second leg is finely poised after a goalless stalemate at K Park last week.

Kilby are the runaway winners of the Lowland League and will face the Blue Brazil, who must be under enormous pressure.

Cowdenbeath are incredibly staring at their third consecutive drop, which would plummet them from playing Rangers and Hearts in the Ladbrokes Championship a couple of years ago to the prospect of non-league football, putting a proud club's future in doubt.

East Kilbride have already won in the William Hill Scottish Cup at Central Park this season with a 1-0 victory. It would hardly be a shock if they repeat that triumph.

They are packed full of players that would not look out of place in the Scottish League including Adam Strachan and Joao Victoria. They look overpriced to make history in Fife.
