Liechtenstein vs Scotland predictions

Scotland suffered one of their most disappointing nights under Steve Clarke on Friday, slumping to a 3-1 home defeat against Iceland.

A goalkeeping crisis has engulfed the squad, which forced Ipswich stopper Cieran Slicker into his debut despite the fact that he has made less than ten appearances in senior football.

The 22-year-old had a nightmare game, making mistakes for all three goals, and it remains to be seen if he will start this friendly against Liechtenstein.

Uncapped keepers Callan McKenna and Ross Doohan have been called into Scotland’s ranks but the former is 18 years old and the latter is currently without a club after departing Aberdeen.

One of the only consolations for the visitors is that they are facing one of the lowest ranked teams in Europe.

Liechtenstein are down to their lowest Fifa ranking of 205, and have lost to San Marino twice in the last 12 months.

The Blue-Reds struggled to defend crosses into the box in their 3-0 defeat to Wales on Friday, with all three goals coming from such situations.

With that in mind, it’s worth taking a chance on Andy Robertson to register an assist – the Liverpool full-back will be on set-piece duties and registered three assists in six games in Euro 2024 qualifying.
