Sunday's European Under-21 Championship predictions

England’s defence of their European Under-21 Championship crown began with a dominant 3-1 victory over the Czech Republic and Lee Carsley’s side are expected to continue on the winning trail in Group B against Slovenia.

Goals from Harvey Elliott, Jonathan Rowe and Charlie Cresswell have got the Young Lions up and running and they are 2-9 to follow up against Slovenia, who were brushed aside 3-0 by a Nick Woltemade-inspired Germany in their curtain-raiser.

England will be desperate to win and to win well given Germany’s strong start and backing them to prevail in a contest featuring four or more goals could be worth an interest.

There have been four or more goals scored in seven of England's last 11 under-21 internationals and, for all their attacking talent, they are not watertight defensively.

Slovenia, meanwhile, may as well go for broke and they created enough against Germany to suggest they can trouble an England’s rearguard which has been breached nine times in their last four outings.

England’s chief Group B rivals Germany are odds-on to make it two from two against the Czech Republic and should do just that.

Group D also features on Sunday’s card and goals could flow when Netherlands lock horns with Denmark.

The Dutch required an injury-time equaliser from Ernest Poku to salvage a 2-2 draw in their opener against Finland, having trailed 2-0 at half-time, while Denmark scored twice in the final nine minutes to overcome Ukraine 3-2.

Ten of the Netherlands' last 13 matches have featured three or more goals while both teams have scored in eight of Denmark's last 12 games.
