Maidstone are rising to the challenge of preserving their National League status and can extend their unbeaten sequence to eight by defeating playoff-chasing Barrow at the Gallagher Stadium.

Relegation looked highly likely for the Stones after they lost four of their first five games in 2017 and dropped into the bottom four.

But they have emerged from the slump and showed quality and mental toughness in a key relegation battle at Woking last Saturday, coming from two-nil down to win 4-2.

Former Norwich striker Jamar Loza bagged a hat-trick against Woking, increasing his tally to six in three games, and his purple patch looks bad news for Barrow, who are in need of three points to boost their promotion bid.

Only goal difference separates Barrow from the top five but they face a tricky test on an artificial surface against one of the form teams in the division.

Aldershot are just above Barrow on goal difference and can maintain their recent surge (three successive victories) with a win at mid-table Soilihull Moors.

The Shots have relied a lot on home results, winning 13 of their 20 league games at the Recreation Ground.

But they have triumphed in three of their last five away fixtures and look solid favourites to inflict Solihull's 11th home league defeat of the season.

Woking slipped into the drop zone after their loss to Maidstone last weekend but can respond with a home win over Sutton.

It has been an excellent season for 14th-placed Sutton, who enjoyed a glorious FA Cup run and are set to build on last season's promotion.

But the Surrey side have the worst away record in the division and look ideal opposition for Woking to face at this stage of the season.
