Danny Cowley has not got much wrong as Lincoln manager this season but he looks to have underestimated the chances of his own side in their historic FA Cup quarter-final at Arsenal.

“The chance is probably one in a thousand,” said Cowley of the National League side, who are the first non-league outfit in more than 100 years to reach the last eight.

However, Lincoln are nothing like 1,000-1 shots with the Imps 18-1 with Sky Bet to qualify for the semi-finals and stun the footballing world with the biggest giantkilling of the lot.

A more realistic target is to send the 8,942 travelling supporters wild with a goal at the Emirates with Hills offering 7-4 about the Imps notching against Arsenal.

However, the Gunners are a rather large-looking evens with bet365 to be the highest-scoring side in the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Hills go 8-11 about the tie producing the most goals.

It remains to be seen whether even a third trophy in four years will keep Arsene Wenger in north London. Wenger is 4-9 with bet365 not to start next season at Arsenal while he is 7-4 to stay on.

With FA Cup replays ditched for this season’s quarter-finals there will be no chance of Lincoln taking Arsenal back to Sincil Bank, while another rule change sees a fourth substitution allowed should a tie go to extra-time.

Manchester City and Middlesbrough are both available at 8-1 with Betway to become the first side to take advantage of the extra replacement rule with the Riverside tie the first of the four quarter-finals.

The last tie – Chelsea against Manchester United – looks the most likely to go the distance and those sides are 10-1. Ladbrokes are 4-5 at least one quarter-final goes beyond 90 minutes.

Alex Neil was last night sacked as Norwich boss after a run of five games without a win.

Neil, who guided Norwich to the Premier League in 2015 via the playoffs, had been in charge at Carrow Road for two years.

First-team coach Alan Irvine will take charge of the home Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackburn.
