Fantasy Premier League returns too and there’s a buzz of excitement in the air following the international break, with players readying their FPL teams in time for this week's Premier League games.

What happened on matchday 11 of the Premier League?

There were some shock results, including Brighton’s stunning 2-1 home win over champions Manchester City on Saturday. The Seagulls fell behind early in the match but rallied with two goals in the second half to turn no points into three.

There were also eyecatching wins for Liverpool over Aston Villa, Ipswich away to Tottenham, and Manchester United win against Leicester.

Turning our attention to round 12 of the Premier League season, here are our Fantasy Premier League picks ahead of another frantic weekend of action:

Erling Haaland (£15.2m)

Haaland has been scoring plenty of goals so far this season, but Man City have lost each of their last two in the league. They host an under-strength and out-of-form Tottenham on Saturday evening at the Etihad and are favourites to win.

Haaland scored both goals in a 2-0 win last time Man City faced Spurs in the Premier League, and he remains an important player for City and FPL players. He’s also scored two goals in his last three league starts, netting the other in a 1-0 win over Southampton.

He’s an expensive buy, but his numbers don’t lie and. If you already have him, don't hesitate to make him captain.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m)

Bruno Fernandes is expected to be another in-demand player this weekend as fans hope Manchester United can build on an important win over Leicester at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese ace opened the scoring in that game and is likely to get chances to add to the four goals he's netted in his last four games in all competitions when the Red Devils visit Ipswich on Sunday.

Fernandes has been one of only a few reliable players for United this season and with new boss Ruben Amorim at the helm, he'll be keen to impress.

Virgil van Dijk (£6.3m)

Virgil van Dijk looks an obvious defensive pick with Liverpool on such a solid run of form – the Reds have won five and drawn one of their last six Premier League games and kept clean sheets against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and Aston Villa in the Premier League before the international break.

With Van Dijk at the heart of the defence, Liverpool have posted six Premier League shutouts already and they should hold lowly Southampton at bay at St Mary's on Sunday.

Pedro Neto (£6.2m)

Pedro Neto could prove to be both an important player for Chelsea and a smart addition to your fantasy football team this weekend.

The Blues visit Leicester on Sunday in a game they’re hot favourites to win, then they host Aston Villa next weekend before a midweek trip to Southampton.

Enzo Maresca's men are playing well enough to win all three matches and Neto should be a permanent fixture in the team. It could be the right time to add the 24-year-old Portuguese winger.

When must my FPL team be ready?

Fantasy managers need to finalise their line-ups and confirm all changes before the "gameweek deadline," which occurs 90 minutes prior to the kick-off of the gameweek's first match. This means the deadline for gameweek 12 is 11.00am, 90 minutes before Leicester City vs Chelsea.
