Arsenal won the Women's Champions League last season but the Gunners' triumphant European campaign had started with a chastening 5-2 defeat away to Bayern Munich in October 2024.

The Gunners look worthy favourites to avenge that loss in Munich on Wednesday although Bayern forward Pernille Harder poses a huge threat to their injury-hit defence.

Centre-backs Leah Williamson and Katie Reid are sidelined for Arsenal and former Chelsea star Harder scored a stunning second-half hat-trick against the Gunners last season.

Harder struck in the 73rd, 78th and 86th minutes to seal a dramatic win for Bayern and she goes into Wednesday's rematch in scintillating form.

Germany striker Lea Schuller is a fitness doubt for the hosts but Harder should relish the additional responsibility after scoring nine goals in her last seven appearances for Bayern and Denmark.
