Aston Villa v Leeds United

Aston Villa’s FA Cup third-round defeat to Stevenage threatens to overshadow the good start to life manager Unai Emery has enjoyed at Villa Park, but the Spaniard’s side can deliver a reminder that the team are on the right path when they host Leeds. The Villans have won three of their five league games under Emery, while the inconsistent Whites aren’t to be trusted on their travels having lost five of their eight away matches this term.

Napoli v Juventus

Juventus have steadily climbed the Serie A standings thanks to some strong defensive performances and look primed to frustrate leaders Napoli. All eight of Juve’s away league games this season have gone under 2.5 goals and goals could be in short supply when the top two meet in Naples.

Hearts v St Mirren

Hearts and St Mirren played out a 1-1 draw when they met just a week ago at St Mirren Park but the reverse fixture could go the way of the Jambos. The Buddies have struggled to pick up points on the road, while Hearts’ recent home record of four wins from five suggests they can get the job done.

Celta Vigo v Villarreal

Villarreal have returned from the World Cup break in fine fettle, beating Valencia and Real Madrid to move within a point of La Liga’s top four. A trip to Celta Vigo, who haven’t won any of their last four home league games, should hold no fears and the Yellow Submarine are worth supporting to extend their winning run to three games.
