European U21 Championship: Sunday betting preview, tip and TV details
Best bet for Germany v Austria
Sky Sports Football/Premier League,
8pm Sunday
Germany need only a point to make certain of a semi-final berth at the European Under-21 Championship but they should be able to finish Group B in style against neighbours Austria.
Only a win will do for Austria, but Germany have already taken apart Denmark (3-1) and Serbia (6-1) so it may pay to back Stefan Kuntz's side to oblige in a high-scoring game.
Goals had looked to be Germany's problem before the tournament but Augsburg's Marco Richter and Luca Waldschmidt of Freiburg have been rampant with seven between them.
Austria need to win and gaps will become available for the favourites to exploit - which they did expertly to see off Denmark in their opener with brilliant breaks on the counter.
The tournament started fantastically for Austria with a 2-0 success over Serbia, although there were clearly issues in their opponents' camp judging by their subsequent 6-1 thrashing against Germany, and Hannes Wolf's horrific leg injury in the first game damages hopes of an upset.
Austria were beaten 3-1 by Denmark in the second round of matches but the Danes are still struggling to make the knockout cut heading into their showdown with Serbia.
Before a ball was kicked it would have been madness to suggest Denmark would be going off at 4-7 to beat Serbia, but things have changed dramatically.
It looks a game best avoided given the doubts over Serbia's motivation.
Recommendation
Germany & over 1.5 goals
