Tuesday's La Liga predictions

Barcelona have all but wrapped up the La Liga title after their 4-3 win over Real Madrid at the weekend but the race for Europe is still wide open, particularly given the fact there are five Champions League spots and Conference League action down to eighth.

The wheels have fallen off for Real Sociedad this term and despite the fact that they can mathematically still secure a Europa League berth, they are worth taking on when they host Celta Vigo tonight.

The home side have won two of their last 14 games and those victories came against the bottom two sides in La Liga, Las Palmas and Valladolid.

Sociedad have failed to score in four of their last five matches and were beaten 4-0 by Atletico Madrid last time out.

Goals have not been an issue for Celta Vigo this term as only Villarreal, Barcelona and the two Madrid clubs have netted more than their 55 and that could be the difference between these two teams.

Celta Vigo’s away record is not great but they pushed both Barca and Real Madrid all the way in their last two road trips and could take advantage of their struggling hosts. The Sky Blues are fancied in the draw-no-bet market.

The relegation battle is also wide open, with seven teams battling it out to avoid joining Valladolid in the second tier next season.

Las Palmas are 19th but with only a three-point gap to 17th, they have it all to play for in their final three games, beginning with the late kick-off against Sevilla.

The 2023 Europa League winners are in danger of succumbing to relegation themselves as they sit just four points clear of the drop zone.

Sevilla have lost six of their last eight games and Las Palmas are hardly in the best form themselves so the stakes could not be higher.

Four of the last six meetings have gone under 2.5 goals and a repeat of that looks likely in this six-pointer.
