Marseille v Saint-Etienne

BT Sport 1, 8pm

Andre Villas-Boas' Marseille finally got their campaign off the ground by picking up their first three points of the season with a 2-1 win at Nice. Despite only having 37 per cent of possession, a second-half Dimitri Payet penalty was enough to secure the win.

The hosts will be confident of making it two on the spin as visitors Saint-Etienne were thumped 3-0 away to Lille on Wednesday.

Although they are level on points with Marseille, the Saints' only win was against rock-bottom Dijon and they may struggle against sterner opposition.

Key stat
Marseille are unbeaten in their last 25 home games against Saint-Etienne in the league.

Strasbourg v Monaco

BT Sport 2, 4pm

Ill-discipline has plagued Monaco this season as they have had a player sent off in each of their three league games.

They secured their first point of the campaign against Nimes but blew a 2-0 lead and they look set to struggle in Strasbourg as the suspensions hit.

The hosts suffered their first defeat of the season against highflying Rennes, who beat PSG before that, but it's likely they had one eye on their Europa League tie with Eintracht Frankfurt. Having been knocked out of that competition, Strasbourg will hope to bounce back on their return to domestic duty.

Key stat
Monaco have picked up just two points from their last six away league games.

Reims v Lille

BT Sport 2, 2pm

Last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Lille paid for their success as the transfer vultures picked over their squad, headlined by the departure of Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal.

Understandably they have had a mixed start to the season while their replacements settle in. Having been reduced to ten, Lille lost away in Amiens but they returned to form on Wednesday with a 3-0 hammering of Saint-Etienne at home.

Reims have failed to score in their last two matches, slipping to a disappointing defeat at promoted Brest last weekend and they may again prove vulnerable.

Simon Giles's recommendation
Lille draw no bet
1pt 4-5 general

Key stat
Reims have won only one of their last five home league games.
