Saturday's European football predictions
Having lost 3-1 in Munich on Thursday, Chelsea were the latest side to be steamrolled by Vincent Kompany's free-scoring Bayern but they will not be the last ones to be swept aside by the Bavarians this season and it is very possible they won't be the only team this week.
Bayern head to Hoffenheim after scoring 14 goals in their opening three Bundesliga matches, and given that they beat Saturday's hosts 4-0 and 5-0 last term, another big win is on the cards in Sinsheim.
Their hosts are no strangers to thrillers themselves. Eight of their last nine games have featured at least four goals, and after beating Union Berlin 4-2 last Saturday, there is every chance they can contribute to a high-scoring match, even if it ends in defeat.
It has taken Harry Kane just six matches to reach double figures for goals this season but his ruthlessness means another aspect of his game has gone under the radar – his playmaking.
Kane has registered three assists in as many Bundesliga games and while there is no value in backing the England captain to score against a Hoffenheim side who have conceded 22 goals in eight league matches, there is plenty of value left in the prices on him creating one for his teammates.
Three seasons ago Sevilla secured a third straight fourth-place finish in La Liga. Fast-forward to today and their start to the new campaign suggests it may be a second straight relegation battle for last season's 17th-place finishers.
The fallen giants lost their opening two games against Athletic Bilbao and Getafe and while they have stopped the rot by beating Girona and drawing with Elche, those are two sides who are likely to be joining them in the relegation scrap come spring.
Saturday's opponents Alaves have been in fantastic form taking seven points from their opening four games, drawing with Atletico Madrid before becoming just the third team to win at Bilbao since January.
Despite a trickier fixture list, Alaves's expected-goals difference is also 1.7 higher than Sevilla's and the Basque outfit should maintain their strong form this weekend.
