Saturday's European football predictions
It is as you were in Serie A, with champions Napoli leading the way after two games. Antonio Conte's men needed a 95th-minute Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa strike to maintain their perfect start against Cagliari but they were dominant on expected goals (1.5-0.5) and are still the best team in Italy.
Kevin De Bruyne's presence immediately makes them a more dangerous team, which is bad news for slow-starters Fiorentina, who have just two points to their name and were beaten in both head-to-heads last term.
La Viola have been held to draws at Cagliari and Torino in their opening two Serie A games and, while they will be hoping a return to Florence will bring improvement, Napoli are on a 14-match unbeaten run for a reason.
Conte's men are tough to beat and have the attacking tools to hurt any side. Odds-against prices for the best team in a country don't come around often and should be snapped up when they do.
The title race in La Liga promises to be an intriguing one between Barcelona and Real Madrid but there could be an even more fascinating battle for third, with Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal likely to be in the mix to be best of the rest come spring.
Atleti host Villarreal on Saturday after contrasting starts to the season, suggesting an upset is on the cards in the capital.
Only a 94th-minute Celta Vigo goal has cost Villarreal a perfect start and they were dominant in their opening 2-0 and 5-0 wins over Real Oviedo and Girona.
The Yellow Submarine rank third for xG (5.7) and also xGA (2.0), so they are good value for their seven points, and they are unlikely to be sunk by Atleti, who have been beaten by Espanyol and held to draws by Elche and Alaves – all sides who were among the ante-post favourites for relegation – in a miserable opening three games.
Paris Saint-Germain's youngsters are the talk of Europe but they are not the only French side boasting an array of youthful talents, with Monaco having plenty of their own.
Goal machine Mika Biereth and tricky winger Maghnes Akliouche are the two who grab most headlines but all-action midfielder Lamine Camara is the pick of the bunch.
The Senegalese star is brilliant at many things but his playmaking is arguably his biggest strength.
Only four players have created more chances than Camara's seven in Ligue 1. He takes Monaco's set-pieces and, despite already having two assists in three appearances this term and providing seven last season, is being offered at juicy prices to add another against Auxerre.
