French champions Paris Saint-Germain will bid to bounce back from a disappointing midweek 1-1 draw at Lorient when Nice visit Parc des Princes on Saturday afternoon.

The Parisians still top the table after ten matches, but Monaco, Marseille, Strasbourg, Lyon and Lens are all within two points of top spot and will be eager to keep the pressure on.

Ligue 1 predictions & tips for this weekend’s matches

Paris Saint-Germain vs Nice

Kick-off: 4pm Saturday

PSG should set the standard in this tie, which should be a lively affair. The champions are unbeaten at home in Ligue 1, while they have not lost any of their last seven in all competitions. Nice have lost five of their seven away matches and they conceded two or more goals on six occasions.

Prediction: PSG to win & over 3.5 goals

Monaco vs Paris FC

Kick-off: 6pm Saturday

Monaco have lost only three of their 13 games in all competitions and they should have too much quality for Paris FC. The hosts are unbeaten in six games, but they have only two wins in that time. Paris FC have netted in four consecutive away games and can at least trouble Monaco in this contest.

Prediction: Monaco to win & both teams to score

Auxerre vs Marseille

Kick-off: 8.05pm Saturday

Auxerre remain in the relegation zone and they should fall short against Marseille. The visitors have gone three games without a win, but they had won five in a row in all competitions before this recent dip. Auxerre have lost seven of their first ten and their slump should continue.

Prediction: Marseille

Rennes vs Strasbourg

Kick-off: 2pm Sunday

This should be a lively tie in Brittany and over 2.5 goals is the way to go. At least three goals have been scored in four consecutive ties involving Rennes, while at least three goals have been netted in nine of Strasbourg's last 11 games in all competitions.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Lens vs Lorient

Kick-off: 4.15pm Sunday

Lens fell to a 2-0 defeat to Metz away from home last week, but a return to Stade Bollaert-Delelis should bring them a victory. The hosts have won four of their first five league games at home, while Lorient are winless on their travels and they have failed to score in four of those five aways.

Prediction: Both teams to score

Lille vs Angers

Kick-off: 4.15pm Sunday

Lille have won after being ahead at half-time in three of their last four Ligue 1 games with Angers and the visitors are once again set to struggle. Angers are winless on the road and they have conceded 10 goals in five ties away from home, so expect them to struggle from the outset.

Prediction: Lille-Lille double result

Nantes vs Metz

Kick-off: 4.15pm Sunday

Nantes host Metz at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday in what should be an end-to-end battle. The visitors are winless in their five away games this season in Ligue 1 and they have conceded a whopping 21 goals. Nantes have the worst home form in the division and have conceded 10 times in five ties.

Prediction: Both teams to score

Toulouse vs Le Havre

Kick-off: 4.15pm Sunday

Toulouse have only lost once at home this season and this should be a lively affair, even though Le Havre have won their last two games 1-0. The hosts have scored at least two goals in each of their ties on home soil and Le Havre's last away match contained no fewer than eight goals.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals

Brest vs Lyon

Kick-off: 7.45pm Sunday

Brest have conceded three goals at home in two of their five ties and that does not bode well with Lyon in town. The visitors have scored six goals in their last three away games in Ligue 1. At least three goals have also been scored in the last three meetings between the two clubs.

Prediction: Over 3.5 goals
