Four consecutive league defeats have seen Leganes tumble down the table but they are more assured on home turf and should respond with a positive display against inconsistent Villarreal.

Just one of Leganes' four latest upsets came on their own patch, which was a 3-0 defeat against league leaders Barcelona, and Villarreal won’t have an easy ride on their venture to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Asier Garitano’s troops have lost just two of six their home league games this term and a goalless draw with classy rivals Atletico Madrid followed by a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao show how much they raise their game for their own fans.

Leganes have kept four home clean sheets this season and their six games have featured just eight goals, which suggests defences could come to the fore.

Villarreal are improving but they have a tendency to throw in a stinker on their travels, such as their 4-0 hiding at Getafe.

Both teams have scored in just one of Leganes' 13 league encounters this term while eight of Villarreal’s matches have seen one or both teams fail to score.

Last season’s meeting in Leganes finished goalless and this could be another slow-burner.

Recommendation
One or both teams not to score
