Ludogorets Razgrad may not be household names outside of their homeland but the Bulgarian champions’ Europa League performances are making people take notice of their qualities.

The Eagles are top of Group H after following up a 5-1 thrashing of CSKA Moscow with a 3-0 triumph against Hungarians Ferencvaros.

Thursday’s opponents Espanyol are likely to prove their toughest test of the group but the incentive to triumph could not be greater.

Victory over the Spaniards would move Ludogorets five points clear at the top of the section before the return game with Espanyol in Barcelona in a fortnight.

Ludogorets have already claimed some notable scalps in their short time in European competition, beating PSV (twice), Lazio and Steaua Bucharest since their group-stage debut in 2013-14, and they could add Espanyol to that list.

The hosts have won seven of their last ten at the Ludogorets Arena, drawing the other three, and look good business at odds-against.

Getafe have a fantastic home record in 2019, losing just three of 19 games and two of those to La Liga giants Barcelona, but Basel could give them a run for their money at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The Swiss side are just two points behind the Spaniards at the top of Group C and have netted seven goals in two group outings.

Saturday’s 2-0 win over Leganes was Getafe’s sole clean sheet in six outings, so backing both teams to score looks like the best plan of attack.
