Scott should prove the wizard of Oz

Impressive links record points to favourite

Adam Scott is different gravy to his seven opponents in the Scottish Open top Australian market and two firms are offering a generous 5-6 about him proving that fact.

Scott is comfortable playing links golf and has built a solid Open record. He almost won the 2012 edition and has form figures of 2-3-5-10-43 from the last five Opens. Given the way he has been hitting his ball in recent weeks, it would come as a surprise should he fail to make some sort of impact on the Dundonald Links.

Terrible putting cost Scott at the US Open and flat-stick issues may deny him a serious Scottish Open title challenge, but his tee-to-green class alone should be enough to leave a weak set of compatriots behind. Scott should be shorter than 5-6 to account for Scott Hend, Marcus Fraser, Wade Ormsby, Andrew Dodt, Jason Scrivener, Sam Brazel and Brett Rumford.
