Match preview

Veteran manager Manuel Pellegrini guided Real Betis to a top-six finish in La Liga last term and they can be challenging first opponents for Scottish Premiership side Celtic in this year's Europa League.

Betis have had a mixed bag of results in the Spanish top flight this season but go into this week's match at the Benito Villamarin fresh from a 2-1 victory over Granada.

Celtic, meanwhile, have looked vulnerable on the road recently, losing their last two away assignments to AZ Alkmaar and Rangers.

Having gone unbeaten in their last Europa League group stage campaign three seasons ago, Betis also arguably have the better recent European pedigree.

They are worth backing at a shade of odds-on to beat Ange Postecoglou's men, who have already lost twice in the league this season.

Key stat

Celtic have lost three of their last four competitive away fixtures.
