It looks like the Women’s British Open trophy is booked for export yet again.

Charley Hull, the 20-year-old from Kettering and the chief home hope, is a 50-1 outsider even though this week’s major is being played at her own club, Woburn.

And Catriona Matthew, the 46-year-old underrated Scot who was the last British winner at Royal Lytham in 2009 but is now probably not as good as she was, is the second Brit in the betting at 100-1.
