Consistent Molinari should take care of sub-par partners
Italian can show his class
Second round
Sky Sports 4, 6pm
Two young talents and a Major champion were out in front after round one of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with Matt Fitzpatrick and Emiliano Grillo joined at the top of the leaderboard by 2009 US Open winner Lucas Glover.
Bookmakers believe that world number two Jason Day is the man to beat, however, after the defending champion opened up with a first-round 70 at Bay Hill. Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, started with a two-over-par 74.
Bay Hill played tough on Thursday, when only 27 players shot under par, and consistency will be key for anyone looking to climb the leaderboard.
One man who fits the bill perfectly is Italian ace Francesco Molinari, who tees off alongside Anirban Lahiri and Geoff Ogilvy at 4.20pm GMT.
Molinari has been typically steady in his eight PGA Tour starts this season, missing only one cut and finishing in the top 20 on all seven other occasions. He also has an encouraging tournament record, having finished ninth, 17th and fifth on his last three starts at Arnie's Place.
Lahiri struggled yesterday when he shot 79 while Ogilvy - who rarely contends on the PGA Tour these days - is facing another missed cut following a four-over par 76.
Most bookmakers are odds-on about Molinari taking care of his struggling partners but Coral offer 11-10, which looks too big.
