Match previews

Spain's golden generation of the early 2010s seems a distant memory and punters should look to oppose Roberto Moreno's men when they travel to Norway.

Only four members of the current squad ply their trade for Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid and the national team is undergoing a period of transition.

They have nonetheless made light work of Group F with six wins from six but a trip to Oslo could be the toughest yet.

The Norwegians might have taken a point from the reverse fixture at the Mestalla had it not been for a 71st-minute penalty handing the Spaniards a 2-1 win, but they can avoid defeat this time around.

They have the makings of a strong side with Bournemouth's Josh King leading the line and Salzburg starlet Erling Braut Haaland in front of in-form Martin Odegaard, who has two goals and two assists for Real Sociedad in La Liga this term.

Spain's attacking threat is minimised by the absence of prolific Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer and, as they look to experiment with new personnel in the remaining group games, Norway are value to avoid defeat.

Bosnia & Herzegovina have fallen off the pace in Group J, with only two wins from six matches, and Armenia, Finland and Italy were all above them in the section standings going into this round of international action.

They lost 4-2 against Armenia last time out and captain and Roma striker Edin Dzeko, who scored the first goal on that occasion, misses their game with Finland.

Markku Kanerva's men won the reverse fixture against the Bosnians 2-0 as part of a run of four successive wins to nil before they pushed Italy close in a 2-1 defeat.

Their resolute rearguard is marshalled by Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky, who is renowned for pulling off some extraordinary saves.

At the other end of the pitch, Teemu Pukki has scored six Premier League goals for Norwich this term and can help his national side defy the odds in Zenica.

Bookmakers appear to be underestimating Romania against minnows Faroe Islands in Group F.

Cosmin Contra's men have accrued ten points from their six matches which featured a tight 2-1 loss to Spain, a draw away to Norway and a 4-1 hammering of the Islanders in the reverse fixture.

This game offers a chance for them to improve their goal difference and they have three out-and-out strikers in their squad capable of finding the net in George Puscas, Florin Andone and Claudiu Keseru. Backing them to win by two goals or more appeals.
