Denmark can find way to shade tight Copenhagen tussle with Mick McCarthy's men

This will be the fifth meeting between Denmark and Ireland in little over 18 months so there will be few surprises in store even though the boys in green are now managed by Mick McCarthy.

Martin O'Neill was in charge for the previous four clashes - three of which finished 0-0 - as well as a 5-1 blowout in favour of Denmark in the second leg of their World Cup playoff.

That was very much the exception to the rule and a low-scoring home win in Copenhagen looks the angle for punters to take.

McCarthy's return to the top job in Irish football has resulted in two wins by 1-0 margins over Gibraltar and Georgia. He has raised spirits, but there is only so much he can do in terms of the quality on the pitch, particularly as Premier League striker Shane Long is injured.

Those goals are the only two Ireland have scored in their last six games, and their only wins in the last 12 months, so they will probably head to Denmark in search of another goalless stalemate.

Denmark, however, may need only one moment of magic from Christian Eriksen to blow those plans to smithereens.

Eriksen has had an eventful few days, losing a Champions League final on Saturday and then announcing his desire to leave Tottenham, but Denmark are not a one-man team.

Thomas Delaney (Borussia Dortmund) and Lasse Schone (Ajax) are playing at a high level and Yussuf Poulsen scored 15 Bundesliga goals for Leipzig this season.

Recommendation
Denmark to win & under 3.5 goals
