Etihad draw scuppers TV treble backers

Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League by Monaco last week and Pep Guardiola's men lost ground in the battle to qualify for next season's competition after a 1-1 home Premier League draw with Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero cancelled out James Milner's penalty but City couldn't find a winner, to the frustration of favourite-backers who had piled into a top-flight TV treble on Sunday.

Manchester United won 3-1 at Middlesbrough and Tottenham beat Southampton 2-1, but the even-money Citizens were unable to complete the acca in an entertaining contest at the Etihad.

With Chelsea ten points clear and 1-20 for the title, the focus is on the race for the top four and Spurs lead the way at 1-8 in the betting. With Harry Kane injured, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli scored the goals to see off the Saints at White Hart Lane.

City's dropped points saw them eased slightly to 1-5 while Liverpool are 8-15 and Manchester United 13-8. Arsenal, beaten at West Brom on Saturday, slip to sixth and are out to 3-1 to haul themselves back into the top four by the end of term.

Spurs are 11-10 with Betfred in their Premier League without Chelsea market. Manchester City are out to 5-2 with Sky Bet to be best of the rest.

Middlesbrough's defeat to United, in their first game after the sacking of Aitor Karanka, leaves them as 2-7 shots to be relegated. Sunderland (1-8) and Hull (4-9) are expected to join them in the Sky Bet Championship next season and 3-1 shots Swansea are next in the betting.

Celtic are just one win away from clinching the Ladbrokes Premiership after their 2-1 victory at Dundee.
