Match preview

England changed the domestic footballing landscape when they won Euro 2022 in July but Sarina Wiegman's side face their biggest test yet when they take on the USA at Wembley on Friday.

Although only a friendly, the clash with the USA will be used to gauge how far England have come under Wiegman. The Stars and Stripes are still considered the best women's side in the world and the World Cup is less than a year away.

But the Lionesses go into the contest missing two key players - Leah Williamson and Alessia Russo - and Wiegman could be forced to rotate her team.

The Women's Super League began only six weeks after the conclusion of Euro 2022 and England were also involved in two World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Luxembourg at the start of the September, meaning fatigue could be setting in.

Vlatko Andonovski's USA side are on a 13-game winning run in all competitions, having won the Concacaf Women's Championship in the summer, and they are worth backing in the draw-no-bet market.
