West Brom are 100-30 with sponsors Sky Bet to gain promotion from the Championship next season after appointing Slaven Bilic as their new manager.

Bilic, who coached West Ham from June 2015 to November 2017, has been without a job since leaving Al-Ittihad in February, and is tasked with returning Albion to the Premier League following their near-miss in last season's playoff semi-final defeat to Aston Villa.

The choice of Bilic is unlikely to strike fear into the other probable promotion challengers and the Croat fancies a tough task replacing the goals of on-loan top-scorer Dwight Gayle.

There has also been talk of Jay Rodriguez, who notched 22 times compared to Gayle's 23 in the league, departing the Hawthorns.

BoyleSports rate the Baggies 11-1 third-favourites to win the Championship, behind Leeds and Fulham.

West Brom's technical director Luke Dowling told the club website: "From the moment we spoke to Slaven, we were struck by his enthusiasm and excitement about this challenge. He is determined to get back to the Premier League and believes passionately that he can do that with Albion.

"We believe he is a great fit for us - his presence, experience and management qualities are just what we need."
