Tuesday's EFL predictions

Ipswich were nursing a relegation hangover in the early weeks of the season, but they have cleared their heads with back-to-back victories and can claim another three points when taking on Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The Championship is incredibly tight with five points covering the teams between second and 18th and it might not take very long for mid-table Ipswich to establish themselves towards the top end of the division.

Kieran McKenna's side are growing in confidence and were comfortable 2-1 weekend winners at home to Portsmouth, who rarely threatened before scoring an injury-time consolation goal.

Ipswich have an array of talented attacking players, including Jaden Philogene, who bagged a hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United before following up with a superb opening goal against Pompey.

Philogene is playing as well as anyone in the division and his pace and quality could set Ipswich apart from Bristol City, who are playing better on the road than at their West Country base.

Gerhard Struber's side succumbed 3-1 to Oxford in their last home game and they could be the latest victims of Ipswich's resurgence.

Another relegated team finding their feet are Marti Cifuentes's Leicester, who take on Wrexham with the aim of extending a five-game unbeaten run.

The Foxes needed an injury-time Nat Phillips own goal in Friday's 1-1 draw at West Brom, although it was probably a fair outcome after an evenly matched affair between two strong sides.

Sharing the spoils against Albion was a reasonable outcome although Leicester will be aware of the need to follow with a home win.

The East Midlands side have taken seven points from three games at the King Power Stadium and their star-studded attack should be a clear point of difference between themselves and 15th-placed Wrexham, whose main aim is Championship consolidation.

Wrexham have got two wins on the board but they have shipped 13 goals (the joint-highest among the top 17) and their suspect defence could be exposed.
