Sunderland are without five-goal top scorer Ross Stewart for the trip to Berkshire which is a significant blow for the Black Cats.

Stewart is out for a while, although Everton loanee Ellis Simms, who scored three in the first two games, is an able deputy.

But without Stewart at Middlesbrough last time out Tony Mowbray's Wearsiders were toothless in a 1-0 loss.

Reading are flying at home, where they have won all four, and are so much more potent with Lucas Joao fit and firing after he missed the start of the campaign.

There's no doubt that Reading are defying the odds, although 4-0 drubbings at Rotherham and Sheffield United also show they are vulnerable.

Paul Ince is doing something right with a team many fancied to fail, and their home form makes them hard to ignore.
