Match preview

Sheffield United finished last year with a bang after recording five straight Championship successes and the title contenders can continue from where they left off in 2023.

The Blades still have work to do if they are to reel in league leaders Burnley but confidence in the United camp must be soaring after eight wins from their last nine games.

Opponents QPR remain in the playoff hunt but they have endured a rocky start under new manager Neil Critchley, with a 1-0 win at Preston in his opening game in charge followed by a goalless draw at Cardiff and a 3-0 defeat at home to Luton.

And just four days on from that limp display against the Hatters, when Rangers managed only two efforts on target, Critchley must be fearing the worst.

Key stat

Sheffield United have won eight of their last ten Championship matches on the road.
