Match preview

Injuries are beginning to mount for Watford, particularly in midfield, and that provides Norwich with the perfect opportunity to snap their poor run of recent form.

The Hornets’ absentees, which included the influential Joao Pedro, Hamza Choudhury, Imran Louza and Tom Cleverley, cost them dearly on Boxing Day as they were battered 4-0 at Swansea.

That bruising defeat came just four days after a 2-0 loss at home to Millwall, who racked up 23 shots as they recorded only their third away win of the campaign.

The Canaries are hardly flying after only one win in five but there were positives to take from their 1-1 draw at home to Reading last time out, which was their first game since the sacking of Dean Smith.

Norwich should at some point spark into life and a visit from a weakened Watford may be the catalyst.

Key stat

Watford have failed to score in five of their last seven Championship matches.
