Match preview

Promotion-chasing Huddersfield have lost their last two Championship games but the international break gave them a chance to reset and they can come back to life with a victory over Hull at the MKM Stadium.

The Terriers were unbeaten in 17 league games from the start of December to mid-March but hopes of a top-two finish were hit by a 3-0 loss at home to Bournemouth 13 days ago, and the remaining seven games are about gathering enough points to nail down a place in the playoffs.

Fifth-bottom Hull are more focused on the lower end of the table, although they look reasonably secure with 13 points separating them from the drop zone.

However, they would prefer to seal safety as soon as possible, allowing head coach Shota Arveladze to crack on with plans for next season.

With new chairman Ali Acun Ilicali keen to make a bold impression, it seems likely that Hull will be one of the busier clubs in the summer transfer window.

And one of the top items on their agenda will be securing the future of Keane Lewis-Potter, who has contributed eight goals and three assists.

But aside from Lewis-Potter Hull have lacked attacking quality and their goal tally of 33 is the third-lowest in the division.

Overall it has been a difficult, transitional season for the Tigers with their supporters having to sit through 11 home league defeats.

Five of those home losses have been inflicted since the start of February and another could be on the cards against a Huddersfield side eager to get their playoff push back on track.
