Charlton vs Wycombe predictions
Charlton's 0-0 first-leg draw at Wycombe on Sunday may not have rivalled Inter-Barcelona in terms of semi-final drama but it was a decent result for Nathan Jones's Addicks.
Their home record since Christmas is outstanding and they are worth backing to seal a place in the League One playoff final with a victory inside 90 minutes at The Valley.
Charlton fans might have been expecting more from their first-leg trip to Adams Park, where they won 4-0 on April 21.
Wycombe striker Richard Kone, League One's Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season, was a little fortunate to avoid a first-half red card after a rash lunge on Kayne Ramsay.
The Chairboys will be hoping for a more positive impact from Kone although he scored the most recent of his 18 league goals on March 18.
His nine-match barren run coincided with a patchy finish to the campaign for Wycombe, who have scored only six times in their last ten games.
They lost their last three regular-season fixtures against fellow playoff contenders Charlton, Leyton Orient and Stockport and face a daunting trip to south London.
Charlton have dropped points in only two of their 14 league fixtures since Christmas, drawing with Reading and Lincoln, and they beat Wycombe 2-1 on December 29.
Miles Leaburn, who scored both goals that day, is injured but striker Matty Godden is in sizzling form, scoring nine times in his last ten appearances at The Valley.
Playmaker Luke Berry and flying winger Tyreece Campbell are also attacking threats for the hosts and Chuks Aneke, sent off in last month's league win at Wycombe, is back from his ban.
Set-pieces could be crucial in the second leg as Wycombe scored the joint-most headed goals in League One and Charlton centre-back Macaulay Gillesphey is a serious aerial menace from dead-ball situations.
At the other end of the pitch, Gillesphey is part of a defence who conceded just 16 goals in 23 home matches. Only champions Birmingham and runners-up Wrexham had better defensive records and out-of-form Wycombe may struggle to breach the Addicks' fortress.
