Leeds vs Stoke predictions

Hoping for a favour from Burnley is not a position Leeds probably envisaged being in at any point this season, but that is exactly where they find themselves now.

It is possible that  a Burnley win against Sheffield United on Monday evening would send both the Clarets and Whites back to the Premier League.

However, before Leeds start thinking about the implications of that match, in which a Sheffield United win would shake things up massively, they must secure three points in their own game, a home fixture against Stoke.

Daniel Farke’s side moved back to the Championship summit with a 1-0 win over Oxford on Friday and while they did not blow the Yellows away, it was exactly the type of professional performance from the Whites which they lacked in the run-in last year.

The leaders will be eager to replicate that performance on Monday as they take on a resurgent Stoke, who opened up a seven-point cushion to the bottom three with their 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday.

After picking up just five wins in their opening 23 league games of the season, the Potters have earned maximum points on seven occasions since appointing Mark Robins in January and they will look to make life difficult for their promotion-chasing hosts at Elland Road.

It is not out of the question that Stoke will extend their unbeaten run to six on Monday, but knowing a win could seal their promotion may just about see Leeds secure the points.

Just three of these sides’ last 14 combined matches have gone over 3.5 goals, so backing under 3.5 goals alongside a home win adds some value.

Key stat

Stoke have lost four of their last six away matches.

Leeds vs Stoke team news

Leeds
Manor Solomon’s withdrawal against Oxford was only due to cramp and he should be available to start on the opposite wing to Dan James, who is ready to feature from the off after returning on Good Friday. Pascal Struijk and Joe Rothwell are still sidelined.

Stoke
Eric Bocat and replacement left-back Jordan Thompson were forced off on Friday, so Lyndon Gooch is likely to fill in should neither be passed fit. Sol Sidibe and Enda Stevens remain out.

Leeds vs Stoke predicted line-ups

Leeds vs Stoke bet builder predictions

Under 3.5 goals
Only three of the pair's last 14 combined matches saw three or more goals scored and the reverse fixture produced just two.

Dan James to score or assist
The Welsh wing wizard should be fully fit after returning from injury at Oxford and could add to his tally of 12 goals and nine assists.

Junior Tchamadeu
The former Colchester right-back has picked up ten yellow cards in the Championship, including one in the reverse fixture, and may struggle against Manor Solomon.
