Birmingham and Southampton were two divisions apart last season but, halfway through the 2025-26 Championship campaign, the clubs are separated by only one point.

Blues racked up a record 111 points on their way to the League One title last term while Saints were relegated from the Premier League with a tally of just 12.

Both were rated serious promotion contenders in this season's Championship but a lack of consistency means that their meeting at St Andrew's is a mid-table scrap.
