Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was reluctant to play at Wolves on Sunday due to the club's Covid-19 issues and it is possible there will be a lack of focus on their EFL Cup quarter-final at Brentford.

The Blues have won just two of their last seven matches and have left themselves with a stiff task to catch Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

With matches coming thick and fast at this time of the year, this clash will not be at the top of their priorities and they could be in for a rough ride, as they were in October when they won 1-0 in a match where goalkeeper Edouard Mendy kept them in the game.

Brentford have won their last two home games and their only loss in their last five was at rejuvenated Tottenham.

A possible return for striker Ivan Toney is another plus for Thomas Frank's side and the home team have strong claims to progress.
