Lincoln City v MK Dons 7.45pm

MK Dons are fifth from bottom in Sky Bet League One with less than a third of the season remaining but they have not been playing like a relegation-threatened side recently and look overpriced to topple 15th-placed Lincoln at Sincil Bank.

Since the start of December the Dons have taken 19 points from 12 league games although all of their five wins during that period came at Stadium MK.

Their away record this season – one win, four draws and nine defeats – does not make for pretty reading but they showed positive signs at Shrewsbury on Saturday, coming from 1-0 down to clinch a well-deserved 1-1 draw.

Confidence is rising after two wins and a draw in their last three games and the Buckinghamshire side should fancy their chances against the Imps, who are on a four-game losing sequence.

Lincoln's playoff hopes have disappeared and they seem to be suffering from a loss of belief and a lack of firepower since the January departure of their 13-goal top scorer Tyler Walker, who was recalled from a loan spell by Nottingham Forest.

The risk of relegation is remote with Lincoln 15 points clear of the bottom three. However, Michael Appleton's side are on the slide and look vulnerable favourites against opponents heading in the opposite direction.

Salford City v Plymouth Argyle 7.45pm

Salford invested heavily in January with the intention of mounting a push towards the Sky Bet League Two playoffs and they can take a big step forward by beating Plymouth at Moor Lane.

The Ammies are 11th – as high as they have been all season – but they remain highly ambitious after some exciting moves in January, bringing in winger Ash Hunter on loan from Fleetwood, striker Tom Elliott from Millwall, and winger Bruno Andrade and midfielder Michael O'Connor from Lincoln.

All the new arrivals are proven performers in the division above and were involved on Saturday as Salford dominated a goalless draw at home to Crawley, winning the shot count 20-3.

Salford's recent reinforcements make them a tougher proposition for Plymouth, who are going through a dip. Argyle were hammered 3-0 at Colchester on Saturday and may suffer back-to-back league defeats for the first time this season.

Tranmere Rovers v Bristol Rovers 7.45pm

Bristol Rovers manager Ben Garner has not tasted victory since his appointment in December but that long wait could come to an end with a win over struggling Tranmere at Prenton Park.

Garner continues to stress his long-term vision for the club and there are signs that his switch to a more possession-based style may bear fruit.

The Pirates won the shot count 14-6 in a 2-1 loss at home to Coventry on February 1 and they had 19 attempts to Wycombe's 13 in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Adams Park.

Good performances should eventually translate to better results and the three points may arrive against Tranmere, who have lost their last five matches without scoring a goal.

Tranmere have looked tired since going to extra-time to triumph 2-1 over Watford in an FA Cup third-round replay and the fixture with Bristol Rovers will be their seventh match in just 20 days.
