Tournament winner

Brazil

They were unable to make home advantage count at the 2014 World Cup but it could be a different story for Brazil at the Copa America for which they are worthy favourites.

The draw could not have worked out much better for the hosts, whose last defeat in a competitive home fixture was a 3-0 loss to Holland in the third-place playoff at the 2014 World Cup.

They dropped just two points from nine home games during 2018 World Cup qualifying, scoring 26 goals and conceding four, and if they play in a similar manner over the next three weeks they should deliver.

Top scorer

Gabriel Jesus

The Samba Stars will have to get the job done without star man Neymar, who suffered an ankle injury during a warm-up match against Qatar.

But Gabriel Jesus's international record of 14 goals in 28 matches is impressive and there is more to come from the 22-year-old, who looks overpriced at 7-1 to top the tournament scoring charts.

Group tip

Uruguay to win Group C

Uruguay's classy front two of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez is the main reason they look the team to beat in Group C.

They were also defensively solid in Russia and should be just as tough to beat this summer with Atletico Madrid centre-backs Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez marshalling the back line.

Uruguay have a great chance to settle into the Copa with early fixtures against Ecuador and Japan, while Chile have an ageing squad.
