Fiorentina vs Real Betis predictions

Fiorentina will need to overturn a one-goal deficit against Real Betis if they are to reach their third successive Conference League final, and there looks a strong chance their semi-final second leg could be just as lively as the 2-1 defeat they suffered in Spain last week.

A Luca Ranieri goal has given the Serie A outfit a chance, but Betis have moved to within one point of the Champions League qualification places in La Liga thanks to their positive approach on the road, and there is little reason to believe Manuel Pellegrini's side will be content with what they already have.

The improved form of Manchester United outcast Antony, currently on loan at Betis, has been one of the main talking points, and his resurgence has helped them claim six wins and two draws from their last eight away games, with one of those stalemates being a 1-1 draw at Barcelona.

So it looks unlikely that they will sit back, and a home victory for a side who have lost just once on their own patch in their last 11 outings is far from guaranteed.

Nevertheless, it seems unwise to plump for either team, and the preference is for goals instead. There had been at least three in five of Fiorentina's six games before Sunday's 1-0 defeat with a much-changed team at Roma, and this one could be quite open.

Key stat

Real Betis have scored at least twice in seven of their last nine away matches.
