Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal predictions
Simone Inzaghi's last match as a manager was Inter's 5-0 defeat to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League final and he is hoping to avoid a similar scoreline when his Al-Hilal side face Real Madrid at the Club World Cup.
The Group H opener is also the start of a new era for Real, who have appointed Xabi Alonso after Carlo Ancelotti left to take charge of Brazil.
The Spanish giants have won the Club World Cup five times and were ante-post favourites for the expanded 2025 tournament but they face an Al-Hilal side packed with big names.
Morocco goalkeeper Bono, Senegal centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, former Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves and ex-Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic form the spine of the team.
Joao Cancelo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and captain Salem Al-Dawsari, who scored a stunning winner for Saudi Arabia against Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, are also in the squad and backing Real to win and both teams to score looks the best bet.
Al-Hilal finished second to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League but they averaged 2.79 goals per game and can land a blow on a depleted Real rearguard.
Several senior defenders are still recovering from injury so Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen are expected to start after their moves from Liverpool and Bournemouth.
Real beat Al-Hilal 5-3 in the 2022 Club World Cup final in Rabat, where Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde both scored twice.
They are likely to be unleashed alongside Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo in a star-studded Real attacking unit and motivation should not be a problem for the men from Madrid.
They are hungry for a trophy after losing to Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals and watching rivals Barcelona complete a domestic double so Alonso's reign may well start with an entertaining victory.

Midfielder Musab Al-Juwair (knee) has been ruled out but full-back Joao Cancelo is fit again after missing the end of the Saudi Pro League season.
