Fancy backing a team who have scored one goal in their past five games at 1-12?

That’s the prospect facing punters assessing the Group G fixture between Real Madrid and 45-1 shots Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic.

Julen Lopetegui’s dismal start at the Bernabeu continued with a 2-1 home defeat to Levante on Saturday, following on from surprise losses at Alaves in La Liga and CSKA Moscow in Europe.

That loss at Levante was something of a mugging as Real created enough chances to come back from the shock of conceding twice in the first 13 minutes and Lopetegui declared that his team had given “their heart and soul on the pitch”.

A similarly committed display should be enough for a comfortable win over the Czechs, who were walloped 5-0 on their trip to Roma last time out.

Recommendation
Real Madrid to win 3-0
1pt 11-2 general
