Liverpool crowned Champions League winners after sinking Spurs in Madrid
Latest betting news and odds
Liverpool have won the Champions League for the first time since 2005 after beating Tottenham 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Jurgen Klopp's men had been available at 14-1 to lift the trophy at the start of the season and can be backed at 7-1 with bet365 to win the competition in 2019-20.
The Reds went ahead inside the opening two minutes when Mohamed Salah - 9-2 favourite to score first - converted a penalty awarded for a handball from Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Neither side were able to carve out any clear-cut opportunities in the remainder of a drab first half with Harry Kane, back in the team for the first time since April 9, managing only 11 touches in the opening period.
The match was there for the taking in the second half as James Milner lashed an effort wide with 20 minute remaining before Tottenham were twice denied by Alisson in quick succession late on.
But Liverpool sealed the win when substitute Divock Origi fired past Hugo Lloris in the 87th-minute, meaning the Merseysiders justified 4-11 pre-match favouritism.
The victory means Liverpool have been crowned European champions for the sixth time, moving up to third in the all-time standings ahead of Bayern Munich and Barcelona (both five titles).
Spurs are 16-1 with bet365 to go one better next season in Istanbul while Manchester City are 5-1 favourites with Barcelona at 6-1. Real Madrid can be backed at 8-1, PSG at 9-1 and Juventus at 10-1. Europa League-winners Chelsea are 33-1 shots.
