Group F always looked like being fun and so it has proved already with plenty of goals in the opening round of fixtures.

That should continue in France as Lyon look to build on their shock win over Manchester City by beating a Shakhtar side who twice had to come from behind to draw 2-2 at home to Hoffenheim.

Shakhtar’s defence was unable to cope with the movement and pace of the Hoffenheim attack a fortnight ago which does not bode well against Lyon’s slick forward line which showed up so well at the Etihad.

Lyon followed that Manchester victory with a 4-2 triumph over Marseille, but their inconsistencies were highlighted by a 1-1 draw against Nantes on Saturday.

Shakhtar have scored 26 goals in their last six matches so clearly pose a threat, even if they can’t match the quality of players such as Nabil Fekir.
