Thursday's Football Bet of the Day

Club Brugge vs Monaco

Club Brugge booked their place in the Champions League with an emphatic playoff victory over Rangers, winning 3-1 at Ibrox before thrashing the Gers 6-0 rout in Belgium.

In the previous qualifying round Brugge came from 2-0 down to beat Salzburg 3-2 at home and goals should continue to flow when they host Monaco on matchday one.

Backing over 2.5 goals and both teams to score was a winning bet in five of Brugge's last seven Champions League games last season – a run that included home matches against Sporting, Atalanta and Aston Villa and a 3-1 defeat away to Manchester City.

Monaco pose a serious goal threat through playmaker Maghnes Akliouche, who made his senior debut for France this month, and former Arsenal youngsters Folarin Balogun and Mika Biereth.

They have won three of their first four Ligue 1 fixtures by 3-1, 3-2 and 2-1 scorelines and their 1-0 defeat at Lille had an xG figure of more than four.
