Champions League team profiles: Barcelona v Lyon
Lively Lyon are capable of mixing it with Europe's elite
Lyon shut out Barcelona
Barcelona are long odds-on to qualify (3-13 with 188Bet) for the Champions League quarter-finals after drawing 0-0 with Lyon in the away leg of their last 16 tie.
Ernesto Valverde's men failed to make the most of their 25 shots in France but are still fancied to dispatch Lyon, who are 21-5 to advance.
Barca are near the top of the outright market at 11-2 to lift the trophy, while Lyon are a best-priced 150-1.
Barcelona profile
How they qualified
A 15th straight qualification for the knockout stage was complete after matchday four as unbeaten Barcelona became the first side to book a spot in the last 16.
Form
Barcelona remain top of La Liga and are also through to the Copa del Rey semi-finals but it's been a struggle recently with no win in three and only two victories in six.
Winter transfer action
Reserves Munir El Haddadi and Denis Suarez departed while centre-back Jeison Murillo and Kevin-Prince Boateng, to much amusement in some quarters, arrived to boost the back-up options.
Prospects
Barca have to be on the shortlist and will always be a huge danger with six-goal Lionel Messi in their ranks. However, the Catalans have won only one of their last seven Champions League away knockout matches, losing five of those, which makes them vulnerable.
Lyon profile
How they qualified
No qualifiers conceded more than Lyon's 11 goals but some of their attacking play was sensational. They deservedly beat Manchester City at the Etihad before drawing with the tournament favourites at home. Lyon accumulated 18 corners, only Red Star Belgrade (17) and Club Brugge (15) managed fewer.
Form
Lyon have lost only twice since the end of the group stage, also becoming the first team to beat Paris St-Germain in Ligue 1, but they were blunted by Nice on Sunday in a 1-0 loss.
Winter transfer action
No major ins or outs.
Prospects
A tie with Barcelona is obviously tough, but Lyon are lively outsiders at 150-1 as wins over City and PSG this season show they can beat the best. Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir are capable of world-class moments and young midfielders Tanguy NDombele and Houssem Aouar are fantastic prospects.
Schedule
First leg: Park OL (Lyon), February 19
Second leg: Camp Nou (Barcelona), March 13
