Champions League betting news

Manchester City, chasing a first Champions League title, head the betting after the group-stage draw but their fellow Premier League representatives Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are also expected to ease through to the knockout stages.

City, 5-2 to be crowned European champions, face Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen in Group G while 11-2 shots Liverpool are in Group A alongside Ajax, Napoli and Rangers. Bet365 make Rangers 3-1 to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Gers' Old Firm rivals Celtic have defending champions Real Madrid among their opponents in Group F and Tottenham's outright odds were cut from 20-1 to 16-1 as they ended up in Group D with Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting and Marseille.

Chelsea are up against Italian champions Milan in Group E while Bayern Munich, 13-2 to win the tournament, tackle Barcelona and Inter in Group C.

An accumulator on the four Premier League teams topping their groups pays just over 2-1 and bet365 offer 5-6 about any English club winning the tournament. It is 150-1 that a Scottish side lift the trophy.

Paris Saint-Germain are rated the biggest threats to City and Liverpool at 11-2 and they are 2-5 to claim top spot in Group H ahead of 5-2 chances Juventus.

Champions League winner odds (best prices): 5-2 Man City, 11-2 PSG, 11-2 Liverpool, 13-2 Bayern Munich, 9 Real Madrid, 16 Tottenham, 16 Chelsea, 20 Barcelona, 33 Atletico Madrid, 40 Juventus, 50 Inter Milan, 66 bar

Group A

2-5 Liverpool, 11-2 Ajax, 6 Napoli, 14 Rangers

Liverpool, Champions League winners in 2018-19 and runners-up last season, are 2-5 to top a section featuring Dutch champions Ajax and Napoli, who finished third in Serie A last season.

All eyes will be on Liverpool's clashes with Rangers, who reached the Europa League final last term and came through a tough playoff tie against PSV Eindhoven to reach the Champions League group stage for the first time in 12 years.

Group B

10-11 Atletico Madrid, 3 Porto, 10-3 Bayer Leverkusen, 11 Club Brugge

Atletico Madrid, beaten in the 2014 and 2016 Champions League final, can have no complaints about their draw alongside Porto, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge. Atleti, odds-on for the group, have been cut from 40-1 to 33-1 to lift the trophy.

Group C

8-11 Bayern Munich, 2 Barcelona, 6 Inter Milan, 100 Plzen

A heavyweight contest sees Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter squaring up with Czech champions Viktoria Plzen 100-1 to upset the big guns and win the group. Bayern are 8-11 favourites with Barca 2-1 and Inter 6-1.

Group D

8-15 Tottenham, 11-2 Eintracht Frankfurt, 11-2 Marseille, 8 Sporting

Tottenham face Eintracht Frankfurt, who beat Barcelona, West Ham and Rangers on their way to Europa League glory, as well as Sporting and Marseille.

Eintracht finished only 11th in the Bundesliga and started this season with a 6-1 home defeat to Bayern so they looked one of the weaker teams in pot one and Spurs are 8-15 to win the section.

Group E

2-5 Chelsea, 10-3 Milan, 12 Salzburg, 50 Dinamo Zagreb

Chelsea are 2-5 to finish top and Serie A winners Milan should be a cut above RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb in this section.

Milan are seven-time European champions but since their last triumph in 2007 they have never got past the Champions League quarter-finals.

Group F

1-4 Real Madrid, 5 RB Leipzig, 14 Celtic, 66 Shakhtar Donetsk

Scottish champions Celtic are up against holders Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine.

Shakhtar face Real in the Champions League for the third year running. They lost twice last season but completed a famous double over the Spanish giants in the 2020-21 group stage.

Group G

1-4 Man City, 11-2 Borussia Dortmund, 10 Sevilla, 50 Copenhagen

Trophy favourites Manchester City's pursuit of elusive European glory will kick off against Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen.

City striker Erling Haaland should be looking forward to his return to Dortmund, for whom he scored 15 Champions League goals in just 13 appearances. The Norwegian is bet365's 7-2 favourite to be this season's top goalscorer ahead of 7-1 chances Kylian Mbappe of PSG and Real's Karim Benzema, last term's winner.

Group H

Paris Saint-Germain 2-5, 11-4 Juventus, 12 Benfica, 150 Maccabi Haifa

Paris St-Germain's Champions League odds have been clipped after a decent draw pitted the French powerhouses against Juventus, Benfica and Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa.
