Celtic have the opportunity to land a 12th consecutive domestic trophy, and an unprecedented quadruple treble, when they take on Hearts in the William Hill Scottish Cup final.

However, on the evidence of the season so far it is no foregone conclusion that Neil Lennon’s side will outclass their Championship opponents.

Celtic’s pursuit of a tenth straight league title has collapsed in spectacular fashion and the Bhoys have won just four of their last 14 matches.

There have been signs of a recovery in back-to-back wins against Lille and Kilmarnock but Lennon’s men still have plenty to prove.

The match prices seem about right, but the layers rate over 2.5 goals as a virtual formality and going under both the 2.5 and 3.5 lines looks a value play.

Hearts have been involved in a series of low-scoring Betfred Cup matches this term – 1-0 against Inverness and Cowdenbeath and a 0-0 draw with Alloa – and perhaps that is an indication of how Robbie Neilson will approach this contest.

Celtic have the edge in terms of quality but they are not playing well enough to run away with this contest.

The stakes are high for favourites Celtic and their under-pressure manager Lennon. Without a packed crowd to whip up the usual frenetic Hampden cup final atmosphere, a tight, low-scoring clash looks to be underrated by the prices.
