Freiburg have turned their season around since the start of December and have an outside shot at a European berth in the Bundesliga.
The Black Forest outfit have lost only one of their last nine league matches - a 2-1 defeat at champions Bayern Munich - and have claimed the scalps of Cologne, Hoffenheim, Hertha Berlin, Schalke and Arminia Bielefeld as part of that run.
They held a strong Eintracht Frankfurt side to a 2-2 draw at the Schwarzwald-Stadion on Wednesday and can take maximum points when they host Stuttgart this weekend.
While Freiburg have been ascending the Bundesliga standings, Stuttgart have suffered a dip in form, winning only one of their last six matches in the German top flight.
The latest setback was a 3-0 defeat to Bielefeld, whom they faced in Bundesliga 2 last season, and Freiburg can cause plenty of problems for the away side's frail three-man defence.
Marseille came out on top when they clashed with Monaco at the Stade Velodrome in December but the tides have changed in Ligue 1 and the principality outfit can get their revenge.
Monaco have got back on track thanks largely to the goals of Wissam Ben Yedder and Kevin Volland, and they are unbeaten in their last five Ligue 1 assignments, winning four of them.
That has propelled them into contention for a top-four berth and they are now four points in front of Marseille, who look low on confidence.
Marseille have won only one of their previous eight fixtures, having lost against Lens on Wednesday, and they lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the French Super Cup earlier this month.
They are in freefall after a poor start to 2021 and it is difficult to see them arresting their slide against an impressive Monaco side.
Scrambling around for a top-five position may seem like a step back for Lazio, who were in the race for the Serie A title last term, but the capital club have looked back to their best.
Simone Inzaghi's men followed up their 3-0 victory in a crucial derby clash with Roma with a Coppa Italia win over Parma, meaning they have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
That last success made it four wins on the spin and while upcoming opponents Sassuolo had their sights set on a European spot not long ago, they have fallen out of contention.
The goals have somewhat dried up for the Green and Blacks, who have claimed only one win in their last four Italian top-flight fixtures and they are worth opposing when they travel to Rome to take on a team featuring impressive trio Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Manuel Lazzari.
